When a visitor dials an apartment number from the Entry
Access Panel
keypad of this apartment intercom system, the phones in corresponding apartment home will all ring in a
distinctive fashion. The in-home resident will so identify the call, and
pick up any handset to attend to the guest. The communication is carried
out in an alternate talk/listen mode (half-duplex) under the control of
the apartment resident, by hitting one same button on the keypad to toggle
the channel.
If the proper Ennovah extensions
are also installed, residents within one
apartment unit may call each other from any handset for intercom
communication. This is great for building owners who also reside in the
building they own. Residents may as well transfer incoming phone calls to each
other, from one room to another. Call waiting tones are locally delivered to
the handset on cross calls: if any door entry call while a phone line call
is ongoing or vice versa, the user receives a call waiting tone. Refer to
features of Ennovah Q-26 to see the
plethora of in-home communication features available to residents within one
apartment unit.
In case of interrupted telephone
service in any apartment unit, the system will still deliver full door entry intercom service within that unit, with no changes or additions, as long as no power failure
occurs in the interim. An optional DC power adaptor is available to guarantee restoral of
door intercom service in event of power failure in an apartment unit with
interrupted phone line service.
